Tiz A Tear Jerker.

Alright? Still in isolation? Yep, sure am.

Working from home, going for walks, what’s more, going for runs :) But the moral of the story is this virus is still a C U Next Tuesday.

Just finished season two of After Life. My eye balls hurt. Touching on the nerves of every day life and the inevitable deterioration of the human body. We will all suffer in life with the topics of the show, but its, I suppose, a skill to let it go on with positivity. To not get so anxious or depressed about it, but who am I kidding here, I hope those days are far far away.

In retrospect, some of these days, stuck in isolation will be some of the best days I will look back on. Stuck in the same house with my parents, going for runs with my dad. Getting pissed off at the cat because she always wants food. We tend to not live in the moment, and to get annoyed with the mundane everyday minutes of our lives, but this is exactly where you need to be, and no fucking doubt you will miss this exact day when you are in your 80’s wishing to hold someone's hand who’s not there any more.

Tiz a tear jerker, so it is.

Shooting with the Ricoh KR5 lately, which is the camera I shot the above photos on. The camera itself is amazing, but it seems to be my developing skills which are making shit of the images. I mean just look at the above photos and it feels like your looking at sand. I am a big lover of grain, but not to this extent. I have some more research to do with the at home development. Less agitation please.

I have now developed a hand full of rolls at home which has been such a great experience and has also been keeping me sane at times of low. This has given me reason to contact the guys over at Lomography.com to see if they where interested in checking some of my images out and posting about them on their Magazine. To my surprise, they were interested and I got featured in their online Mag. Even just typing this out now is putting a smile on face because its not something I would have ever imagined. Its a great feeling to know someone is looking at my work and even better to know i’m apart of that community now. A huge thanks to Lomography for considering my work for their Mag :).

I am already planning life after isolation. Actually something I spotted last year but has only re-popped into my mind during these times is the DarkRoom.ie .This place is only around the corner from me in StoneyBatter and is a rental space for photographers. This place looks awesome, and the facilities sound amazing too. Not only is it a space for learning how to develop but you can rent their studio for photo shoots, they have top notch film scanners you can use with the membership and you can rent the cameras they have in there too!

I would defianlty recommend that you check out their website and take a look at the courses and facilities. Hopfully I will see you in the darkroom when planet earth has opened back up again :)

There is a photographer who I am absolute addicted to the past few months. Photographer Judianne Thomson AKA @judiangrace .

Judianne is a film photographer based in British Columbia. Her images scream NATURE! They scream just natural everything really. She captures images of her friends in the most natural way, just going about their lives nothing posed nothing staged. The nudity in her images just make everything seem so much more connected to the landscape. Each person in her photos was just meant to be right there in that moment.

Judianne seems to talk a lot about the land around her and how much she loves and wants to protect her surroundings, and you can feel every bit of that love in her images. The landscape she is connected to (in my opinion) is one of the most beautifulest places on the planet and I can see why so many people want to go hiking and camping there and take similar photos, but with that, sometimes comes the disrespect for the land and natives that live there. One thing her IG has thought me is to respect where you come from and where you are going. Take care of mother Earth and she will take care of you :)

Go check out Judianne’s Insta HERE and say hello :)
